Welcome to Long Covid Support Group and Advice Forum. The reason for this site is the growing numbers and lack of information on people who in theory have recovered from Covid but are suffering long term illness.

Corona virus alert message on a worn wooden desk.

The aim of this to gather information from as many places and people as possible to help those and their carers who are coming face to face with this as yet unknown condition.

The blog will supply information from accredited places such as Wiki, CDC, NHS and reputable news outlets.  Whilst the support forum will contain information for and by sufferers of Long Covid (sometimes known as Long Haulers), themselves.

Some Doctors and indeed the UK Government have been slow to acknowledge what members of the public have been telling them.

Sufferers have been reporting a huge range of problems ie: (persistent cough, fever and loss of taste or smell). These include fatigue, breathlessness, muscle aches, joint pain, ‘brain fog,’ memory loss, lack of concentration, and depression. It is not thought that people are infectious for the long period, but just suffer long-term effects.

I would also live to cover the difference or similarities between Coronavirus and Flu.

Flu and COVID-19 are both contagious respiratory illnesses, but they are caused by different viruses. COVID-19 is caused by infection with a new coronavirus (called SARS-CoV-2) and flu is caused by infection with influenza viruses. Because some of the symptoms of flu and COVID-19 are similar, it may be hard to tell the difference between them based on symptoms alone, and testing may be needed to help confirm a diagnosis. Flu and COVID-19 share many characteristics, but there are some key differences between the two which this forum part of this site will be looking into.
